Phillip Vitus Höltgen
As a dedicated student, artist, and athlete, I have long been committed to the pursuit of excellence, managing my time effectively to excel “on and off the pitch”. My academic focus on Design for Sustainability has empowered me to integrate circular design principles and create real change in my work, while my passion for 3D modeling is a deeply rooted strive to problem solve and become the best I can be in everything I do. I invite you to explore how I merge these passions to create purposeful design solutions.
Apart from my interests as a Designer and Athlete, I developed a deep connection to music. Starting to mix genres like house and techno when I was 17, I was able to continue this journey when coming to the US in 2020 by playing at house parties and art shows. With time and a few friends, we managed to attract a growing underground scene in Savannah, as this kind of music was not present in this city before. We started a collective and rented clubs and other venues since the fall of 2023, proudly performing about twice a month now, with our biggest events hosting 700+ people. I have also performed at Unterdeck in Munich.
Music
Even though you might call it Soccer, it is football. Playing in a club since the age of 4, I was always captured by the sport. At age 9, I transferred to TSV 1860 München, a German Pro Club with rich tradition and an elite academy for the youth teams, training four to five times a week. I managed to stay there and hold a captaincy position for the next 7 years before I had to decide between the slim chance of becoming a pro player and earning enough money to sustain myself or enjoying my free time with friends and finishing my education. Being one of the best decisions in my life I chose the latter. Fortunately, this journey was able to not only teach me about teamwork, management, courage, and striving for success, but it also sponsored all of my studies in the US, where I joined the SCAD Men's Soccer team.
